As part of the ‘Woodlands Plus’ project (full info HERE), funding has been secured to install two information panels and two benches along the Southern Upland Way on Waterside Hill, near Dalry.
Over recent years a variety of historical assets and info have been compiled for inclusion on the panels. There is currently a survey underway seeking public views and comment on sectors or topics to be included.
The survey runs to 21st October and is available here: https://form.jotform.com/242541871524052.
The project is being developed in partnership between the local community, St Johns Town of Dalry Community Council, the landowner and Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands. The work is being funded thanks to support from the Glenkens & District Trust and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Morag Paterson, from Dalry Community Council, saod:
“We’re delighted to see the Waterside Hill project taking shape, its a pleasure to be working with D&G Woodlands and the landowner on this. A huge thanks to the Glenkens & District Trust and others for funding.”
McNabb Laurie from Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands added:
“We are working with a range of sites to add value to new woodland creation projects across the region, in this case improving seating and interpretation assets on Waterside Hill. If you have stories or images from the area that could be incorporated into the proposed panels, please do complete the survey by 24th October.”
