Tis the season! For tree planting!
On Wednesday 10th December the Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands crew will be at Glaisters Bridge Community Woodland, near Corsock. We have 150 trees to plant and hope to check on how last year’s trees are doing.
Whether you have never planted a tree before, or have lots of experience, all are invited to join us. We have tools + gloves and trees.
The Glaisters Bridge Community Woodland is the first of its kind – land that has been leased to the community as part of a wider woodland creation project. We’ve been planting trees, paths have been cut, benches installed and wildlife scrapes established. This planting session, like all work on site, is only possible thanks to the support of partners – including leaseholders Upper Urr Environment Trust (https://www.uuet.co.uk/), landowner Foresight Group and forestry agent EJD Forestry.
The activity is scheduled to start at 9.30am on site, and run to midday.
Please dress for a morning outside in December. Festive clothing optional. Any attendees welcome to stay for as much or as little of the full 2 and a half hour session as suits.
Precise location, with parking along the road: https://what3words.com/lofts.plausible.bends
If you plan to come, it would be great if you sent a note to mcnabb.laurie@dgwoodlands.org to allow us to plan numbers and keep an eye out for you.
Risk assessment provided upon arrival. There are no formal toilet facilities on site.
